The first call with a web studio is a conversation, not an exam. A little preparation helps both sides get to useful answers faster.
Know what the website is for
“We need a new website” is a starting point. “We need more enquiries from property managers” is a goal a designer can work towards. Try to finish the sentence: after launch, we want more people to…
Describe your customers
Who are they, what do they ask before buying and what stops them from getting in touch? You know this better than anyone, and it shapes every page.
Collect a few examples
Bring two or three websites you like and one you do not, with a sentence on why. It does not have to be from your industry. This is the quickest way to talk about style without design vocabulary.
Have a rough budget and date
A range is enough. It lets the studio suggest an approach that fits instead of guessing, and it saves you from a proposal you cannot use.
If there is a fixed date, such as an event or a product launch, say so at the start.
